Aaliyah Dana Haaughton rose to prominence after the release of her debut album Age Ain't Nothing More Than A Number in the year 1994. In the age group of 15 years old, the album earned Gold standing. The collaboration was heavily in the style of R. Kelly, and helped put her on the map. She collaborated in 1996 alongside Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland to record her follow-up album One In A Million which included the top-rated hit song If Your Girl Only Knew. With the debut of the album Aaliyah won international acclaim for her work as an R&B artist. She was also as a character in Romeo Must Die, a romantic action film with Jet-Li. Joel Silver, a film producer who was at an awards show at the time she landed the role was able to spot her. In 2002, she was part of the film vampire Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The actress employs Aarti Man as well as Aarti Mahumdar for her professional name. She started her acting career in minor film and TV roles, but her popularity was growing in the late 2000s. In addition to The Big Bang Theory, her other notable works include Leverage (2013) Suits (2014) and Grey's Anatomy (2017.) In addition, she was a part of several commercials, including Volvo as well as other major auto companies. She is a resident of Los Angeles where she continues to perform as an actor.
